Project

The proposed Project is located in the central-western part of Sulawesi Island, on the Mamasa River, approximately 22 km upstream of the existing Bakaru Hydropower Plant dam. Based on the preliminary design, the main project components include:
an RCC dam with a curved axis and a height of 126 m, extending from the dam crest elevation of +826 m to the main foundation level at +700 m; a power waterway system comprising an intake structure, a 178 m long headrace tunnel, a 184 m pressure shaft/tunnel, a surge tank, and a 2.25 km long tailrace tunnel; an underground powerhouse equipped with three turbine units with a total installed capacity of 124.5 MW, including an access tunnel and transformer cavern; a 150 kV transmission line approximately 26 km long.
