Project

The Rehabilitation and Redevelopment of Olkaria II Power Plant (105 MW) and Wellhead Units (86 MW) Project is located in Kenya’s Rift Valley, within the Greater Olkaria Volcanic Complex. The project sits inside Hell’s Gate National Park, a Key Biodiversity Area, and near the Lake Naivasha Ramsar Site. The Park supports a range of wildlife, including the Masai giraffe and African buffalo. The area faces environmental pressures from intensive geothermal development and horticulture. Local communities, including the Maasai, depend on livestock rearing, small-scale trade, and tourism.
