Project

The Tanahu Hydropower Project is a 140 MW storage-type facility on the Seti River, featuring a 140 meters concrete gravity dam and a 37 km long 220 kV transmission line. The reservoir spans 18 km with a surface area of 7.26 km² and a gross storage capacity of 295 Mm³. Endangered species like tigers, leopards and golden mahseer inhabit the area. The local Magar community relies on agriculture, animal husbandry, and forest resources for their livelihood. Conservation and careful management are necessary to balance development and preservation.
