Project

The TAMS Multipurpose Project, located in Ethiopia’s Gambela Region along the Baro River, includes a 270-meter-high dam with a 2,000 MW capacity. The area features protected wetlands and forests crucial for wildlife migration, forming part of a larger conservation network extending into South Sudan. While seasonal floods support local recessional agriculture and fishing, they also pose health risks. Five ethnic groups, reliant on the river and fertile land, live in close connection with this delicate ecosystem.
Financed by Government of Ethiopia Fund.
