Project

The Project, linking the Ethiopia and Kenya power systems, will be the anchor for the development of the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP), together with, the Ethiopia-Djibouti, the on-going Ethiopia-Sudan and Kenya-Uganda interconnections and the planned Kenya-Tanzania interconnection. It will also form the backbone regional transmission network, which will integrate the eastern, central and southern African power systems.
Transmission Lines HVDC 500 kV (433 km – 2 lots), No. 1 Converting stations (1,000 MW)
Transmission Lines HVDC 500 kV (612 km – 3 lots), No. 1 Converting stations (1,000 MW).
